  89R15948 GP-F     By: Bernal H.B. No. 5355       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the permissible uses of the allotment for students with   dyslexia or related disorders under the Foundation School Program.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 48.103(d), Education Code, is amended to   read as follows:          (d)  A school district may use [ an amount not to exceed 20   percent of ] the allotment provided for a qualifying student under   this section to contract with a private provider to provide   supplemental academic services to the student that are recommended   under the student's program or plan described by Subsection (b). A   student may not be excused from school to receive supplemental   academic services provided under this subsection.          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
