  89R17585 KJE-D     By: Leo Wilson H.B. No. 4440       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the use of receipts from attendance credit purchased   under the public school finance system.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Subchapter D, Chapter 49, Education Code, is   amended by adding Section 49.159 to read as follows:           Sec.   49.159.     TRACKING SYSTEM AND REPORT. (a) The agency   shall develop a system to track the use of receipts from attendance   credit purchased under this subchapter.           (b)     The agency shall annually post on the agency's Internet   website a report on the use of receipts from attendance credit   purchased under this subchapter during the preceding school year.   The report must include the amount spent to achieve wealth   equalization.          SECTION 2.  This Act applies beginning with the 2025-2026   school year.          SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives   a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as   provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this   Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this   Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
