  89R16284 SRA-D     By: McQueeney H.B. No. 4430       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to an annual study on motor vehicle collisions in this   state.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Subchapter D, Chapter 201, Transportation Code,   is amended by adding Section 201.212 to read as follows:           Sec.   201.212.     ANNUAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION STUDY. (a)     The department shall conduct an annual study of motor vehicle   collisions in this state.   As part of the study, the department   shall:                 (1)     identify the 50 areas in this state with the most   frequent motor vehicle collisions; and                   (2)     develop a plan to reduce motor vehicle collisions   in each area identified under Subdivision (1).             (b)     Not later than September 1 of each year, the department   shall prepare and submit a report to the governor, lieutenant   governor, and legislature that:                 (1)     contains the results of the study conducted under   this section;                 (2)     lists the areas identified under Subsection   (a)(1); and                 (3)     provides the plan developed under Subsection   (a)(2).          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
