  89R16040 LRM-F     By: Plesa H.B. No. 4287       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to posting certain election information on the Internet   website of certain political subdivisions.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 4.009, Election Code, is amended by   adding Subsections (c) and (d) to read as follows:           (c)     Not later than the 150th day before election day, a   political subdivision other than a county, city, or independent   school district that holds an election and maintains an Internet   website shall post on the public Internet website for the political   subdivision:                 (1)  the date of the election;                 (2)  a call for candidates;                 (3)  each office to appear on the ballot;                   (4)  the filing period; and                 (5)     the date candidate packets are available,   including electronically.           (d)     A political subdivision to which Subsection (c) applies   shall post the name of each candidate for an elected office on the   ballot on the public Internet website for the political subdivision   not later than:                 (1)     for a political subdivision with fewer than 10,000   registered voters, the 10th business day after the date the   candidate's application is received; and                 (2)     for a political subdivision with more than 10,000   registered voters, the second business day after the date the   application is received.          SECTION 2.  The changes in law made by this Act apply to an   election ordered on or after the effective date of this Act.          SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
