  89R27614 SRA-D     By: Guillen H.B. No. 4164     Substitute the following for H.B. No. 4164:     By:  Craddick C.S.H.B. No. 4164       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to notice requirements for certain state highway projects.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 203.022, Transportation Code, is amended   by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:           (d)     The department shall send the notice required by   Subsection (a) by certified mail, return receipt requested.   The   department shall request that an adjoining property owner who is   notified of a state highway project under this section submit a   response to the department, in a form and manner prescribed by   department rule and not later than the 60th day after the date the   owner receives the notice, acknowledging receipt of the notice.   If   the department does not receive an acknowledgement from the   adjoining property owner on or before the 60th day after the date   the department mailed the notice, the department shall, through the   appropriate department district office, identify each known   address of the property owner, including the owner's last known   residence address if that address is different from the property   address, and make a reasonable effort to locate and provide   personal notice to the owner.          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
