  89R10967 DNC-D     By: Y. Davis of Dallas H.B. No. 3992       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the salary schedules for regional planning commissions.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 391.0117, Local Government Code, is   amended by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (b-1) to   read as follows:          (b)  The salary schedule for classified positions adopted by   a [ the ] commission serving fewer than 200 participating   governmental units may not exceed[ , for classified positions, ] the   state salary schedule for classified positions as prescribed by the   General Appropriations Act adopted by the most recent legislature.     A commission serving fewer than 200 participating governmental   units may adopt a salary schedule that is less than the state salary   schedule.           (b-1)     A commission serving 200 or more participating   governmental units may adopt a salary schedule for classified   positions as determined by the commission.          SECTION 2.  This Act applies only to a salary schedule   adopted for a fiscal year beginning on or after the effective date   of this Act.          SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
