  89R14158 MCF-D     By: Cole H.B. No. 3955       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the eligibility of certain individuals for the children   with special health care needs program.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 35.0022(a), Health and Safety Code, is   amended to read as follows:          (a)  In this chapter, "child with special health care needs"   means a person who:                (1)  is younger than 21 years of age and who has a   chronic physical or developmental condition; or                (2)  has cystic fibrosis or sickle cell disease ,   regardless of the person's age.          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
