  89R14509 SCF-F     By: Morgan, et al. H.B. No. 3658       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to continuing education program contents and format   relating to building codes for insurance adjusters.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 4004.105, Insurance Code, is amended to   read as follows:          Sec. 4004.105.  ADJUSTER CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAM   CONTENTS AND FORMAT .   (a)   A continuing education program for   adjusters licensed under Chapter 4101 must include education   relating to:                (1)  Chapter 541;                (2)  Chapter 547;                (3)  Subchapter A, Chapter 542;                (4)  Subchapter E, Chapter 17, Business & Commerce   Code; [ and ]                (5)   state and local building codes that is at least one   hour in each licensing period and includes information relating to:                       (A)  damage assessment and claim adjustment;                       (B)     policy coverage interpretations involving   building codes; and                         (C)     mitigation and reconstruction standards   applicable to insured losses; and                 (6)   any other similar laws specified by the   department.           (b)     In relation to a course instructing an adjuster licensed   under Chapter 4101 on building code requirements under Subsection   (a), the department shall:                 (1)     develop the course or certify a continuing   education program with the course under Section 4004.101; and                 (2)     ensure that the course is available through   continuing education program providers in multiple formats,   including a classroom setting, an online setting, and self-paced   study.            SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
