  89R12889 MPF-F     By: Gerdes H.B. No. 3444       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to appointment of the members of the early voting ballot   board.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 87.002, Election Code, is amended by   adding Subsections (c-1) and (c-2) to read as follows:           (c-1)     The county chairs submitting the list of names of   persons eligible to serve on the early voting ballot board for a   general election for state and county officers under Subsection (c)   must submit the list of names not later than:                 (1)     June 30 of each year in a county with a population   of more than 500,000; or                 (2)     July 31 of each year in a county with a population   of 500,000 or less.           (c-2)     The county election board shall appoint the members of   the early voting ballot board under Subsection (c) not later than   August 15 of each year.          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
