  89R12816 GP-D     By: Allen H.B. No. 3328       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the approval of purchases under the supplemental   special education services and instructional materials program by a   public school student's admission, review, and dismissal   committee.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 29.046(a), Education Code, is amended to   read as follows:          (a)  Money in an account assigned to a student under Section   29.045 may be used only for supplemental special education services   and supplemental special education instructional materials   approved by the student's admission, review, and dismissal   committee under Section 29.048(c) .          SECTION 2.  Section 29.048, Education Code, is amended by   adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:           (c)     The admission, review, and dismissal committee of a   student approved for participation in the program shall hold an   admission, review, and dismissal committee meeting for the student   with the student's parent before grant money is assigned to a   student's account under the program to determine and approve the   supplemental special education services and supplemental special   education instructional materials that would best serve the   student. The committee shall provide the student's parent and the   agency the list of approved services and materials for the student.          SECTION 3.  This Act applies beginning with the 2025-2026   school year.          SECTION 4.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives   a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as   provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this   Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this   Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
