  89R13842 MZM-D     By: Turner H.B. No. 3238       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to an optional health condition or disability designation   on a driver's license or personal identification certificate.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 521.1251, Transportation Code, as added   by Chapter 147 (S.B. 656), Acts of the 88th Legislature, Regular   Session, 2023, is amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as   follows:           (c)     A person who makes an election under this section may   choose to include on the person's driver's license or personal   identification certificate:                 (1)  the designation "COMMUNICATION IMPEDIMENT"; or                 (2)     another distinctive symbol authorized by   department rule.          SECTION 2.  It is the intent of the 89th Legislature, Regular   Session, 2025, that the amendment made by this Act to Section   521.1251, Transportation Code, be harmonized with another Act of   the 89th Legislature, Regular Session, 2025, relating to   nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted codes.          SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
