  89R8561 DRS-D     By: Jones of Dallas H.B. No. 2913       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the authority of a municipality to allow a person to   file an application to stop a nonconforming use of a property.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 211.019, Local Government Code, is   amended by adding Subsection (q) to read as follows:           (q)     This section does not prohibit a municipality from   adopting or enforcing an ordinance, regulation, or other measure   that allows a person who resides or owns real property in the   municipality to file an application to stop a nonconforming use of a   property.          SECTION 2.  Section 211.019(q), Local Government Code, as   added by this Act, applies to an ordinance, regulation, or other   measure adopted by a municipality on, before, or after the   effective date of this Act.          SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
