  89R11025 JBD-D     By: Simmons H.B. No. 2908       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to a tenant's receipt of a security deposit refund.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 92.103, Property Code, is amended by   adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:           (d)     The tenant is entitled to receive the refund of a   security deposit in the tenant's choice of:                 (1)     a check, money order, or other traceable or   negotiable instrument; or                 (2)     a credit applied to the form of payment used to pay   the security deposit, including a credit card or other electronic   payment method.          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
