  89R9546 EAS-D     By: Metcalf H.B. No. 2622       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the transport of female patients to a mental health   facility or residential care facility.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 1(c), Article 46.04, Code of Criminal   Procedure, is amended to read as follows:          (c)  A female patient must be accompanied by a female   attendant unless:                 (1)     the patient is transported by a male attendant who   is wearing a body worn camera, as defined by Article 2B.0101, that   is activated for the duration of the patient's transport; or                 (2)     the vehicle in which the patient is transported is   equipped with audio or video recording devices that actively record   for the duration of the patient's transport .          SECTION 2.  Section 574.045(d), Health and Safety Code, is   amended to read as follows:          (d)  A female patient must be accompanied by a female   attendant unless :                 (1)   the patient is accompanied by her father, husband,   or adult brother or son ;                 (2)     the patient is transported by a male attendant who   is wearing a body worn camera, as defined by Article 2B.0101, Code   of Criminal Procedure, that is activated for the duration of the   patient's transport; or                 (3)     the vehicle in which the patient is transported is   equipped with audio or video recording devices that actively record   for the duration of the patient's transport .          SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
