  89R2049 SRA-D     By: Orr H.B. No. 2543       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to requiring the display of a broadband provider's name or   logo when performing work on the real property of another.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Subtitle B, Title 10, Business & Commerce Code,   is amended by adding Chapter 329 to read as follows:   CHAPTER 329. REGULATION OF BROADBAND PROVIDERS           Sec.   329.001.     DEFINITION. In this chapter, "broadband   provider" has the meaning assigned by Section 253.0001, Utilities   Code.           Sec.   329.002.     CONSPICUOUS DISPLAY OF PROVIDER NAME OR LOGO   REQUIRED. An employee or contractor of a broadband provider that   enters the real property of another located in this state to perform   work on behalf of the provider shall:                 (1)     wear a badge, name tag, or other distinctive   clothing with the provider's name or logo in a manner that   conspicuously identifies the person as an employee or contractor of   the provider; and                 (2)     if the person uses a motor vehicle on the property,   affix in a conspicuous place on both sides of the vehicle the   provider's name or logo.            SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
