  89R21571 JCG-F     By: Patterson, Hayes H.B. No. 2363       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the authority of certain peace officers to arrest a   person without a warrant while outside the officer's jurisdiction.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Article 14.03(g), Code of Criminal Procedure, is   amended by adding Subdivision (2-a) to read as follows:                 (2-a)     A peace officer described by Article 2A.001(14)   who is licensed under Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, and is   outside of the officer's jurisdiction may arrest without a warrant   a person who commits any offense within the officer's presence or   view, except that an officer described in this subdivision who is   outside of that officer's jurisdiction may arrest a person for a   violation of Subtitle C, Title 7, Transportation Code, only if the   offense is committed in a county with a population of 500,000 or   more in which the district employing the peace officer is located.          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
