  89R3724 MCK-D     By: Hopper H.B. No. 2329       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the line of succession of individuals to serve as   commander-in-chief of the state military forces.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 437.002(b), Government Code, is amended   to read as follows:          (b)  If the governor is unable to perform the duties of   commander-in-chief, the successor to the governor's authority as   provided by the state constitution or other state law [ adjutant   general ] shall command the Texas military forces[ , unless the state   constitution or other state law requires the lieutenant governor or   the president of the senate to perform the duties of governor ].          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
