  89R1117 LRM-F     By: Schofield H.B. No. 959       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the date of the primary election runoff.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 41.007, Election Code, is amended by   amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (b-1) to read as   follows:          (b)  The runoff primary election date is the second [ fourth ]   Tuesday in April [ May ] following the general primary election.           (b-1)     The runoff primary election date for an election for   federal office is the fourth Tuesday in May following the general   primary election.          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
