  89R1131 MPF-D     By: Cain H.B. No. 934       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the eligibility to vote in certain primary elections.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Chapter 11, Election Code, is amended by adding   Section 11.0015 to read as follows:           Sec.   11.0015.     ELIGIBILITY TO VOTE IN CERTAIN PRIMARY   ELECTIONS. (a) This section only applies to a primary election in   this state held by a political party whose candidate for governor   has received the greatest number of votes in at least 7 of the 10   most recent gubernatorial elections.           (b)     Notwithstanding any other law and in addition to the   requirements of Section 11.001, to be eligible to vote in a primary   election held by a political party to which this section applies, a   person must:                 (1)     have voted in a primary election of the political   party within the past two years;                 (2)     have been issued an affiliation certificate by the   political party before the first day of the filing period for an   application for a place on the general primary election ballot; or                 (3)  be under 21 years of age.          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
