  89R462 CMO-D     By: Tepper H.B. No. 603       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the operation of school buses at certain railroad grade   crossings.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Sections 545.2535(c) and (d), Transportation   Code, are amended to read as follows:          (c)  An operator is not required to stop at:                (1)  an abandoned railroad grade crossing that is   marked with a sign reading "tracks out of service"; [ or ]                (2)  an industrial or spur line railroad grade crossing   that is marked with a sign reading "exempt[ . ]" ; or                 (3)     a railroad grade crossing with active warning and   control devices, including both a functioning gate and flashing   light.          (d)  A sign under Subsection (c) (1) or (2) may be erected   only by or with the consent of the appropriate state or local   governmental official.          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
