      H.B. No. 303         AN ACT   relating to the authority of a Type A or Type B general-law   municipality to change to a Type C general-law municipality.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 8.021(a), Local Government Code, is   amended to read as follows:          (a)  A Type A general-law municipality containing [ 501 to ]   4,999 or fewer inhabitants or a Type B general-law municipality   containing [ 501 to ] 999 or fewer inhabitants may change to a Type C   general-law municipality.          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives   a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as   provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this   Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this   Act takes effect September 1, 2025.       ______________________________ ______________________________      President of the Senate Speaker of the House                   I certify that H.B.
