CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2025–2026 REGULAR SESSION Senate Bill No. 1348 Introduced by Senator Seyarto February 20, 2026 An act to amend Section 10110 of the Insurance Code, relating to life and disability insurance. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 1348, as introduced, Seyarto. Life and disability insurance contracts. Existing law generally regulates classes of insurance, including life and disability insurance. Existing law grants a person an insurable interest in the life and health of, among others, themselves or a person upon whom they depend for education or support. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that provision. Section 10110 of the Insurance Code is amended to read: 10110. Every A person has an insurable interest in the life and health of: (a) Himself. (a) Themselves. (b) Any A person on whom he depends they depend wholly or in part for education or support. (c) Any A person under a legal obligation to him them for the payment of money or respecting property or services, of which death or illness might delay or prevent the performance. (d) Any A person upon whose life any an estate or interest vested in him them depends.
