CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2025–2026 REGULAR SESSION Assembly Bill No. 2681 Introduced by Assembly Member Hart February 20, 2026 An act to amend Section 8604 of the Elections Code, relating to elections. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 2681, as introduced, Hart. Write-in candidates: fees. Existing law prohibits the imposition of a fee or charge for a write-in candidate except in the case of a candidate for city office, as specified. This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to the above provision.
