SHORT TITLE. 1 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Stop Trump’s Oil Pay- 2 off Act of 2020’’ or ‘‘STOP Act of 2020’’. 3 SEC. 2. REPEAL OF PROVISION OF THE MINERAL LEASING 4 ACT RELATING TO THE SUSPENSION, WAIV- 5 ER, OR REDUCTION OF RENTS OR ROYALTIES 6 BY THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR TO 7 PROMOTE DEVELOPMENT OR OPERATION. 8 (a) REPEAL.—Section 39 of the Mineral Leasing Act 9 (30 U.S.C. 209) is repealed. 10 (b) CONFORMING AMENDMENTS.— 11 (1) Section 8721(b) of title 10, United States 12 Code, is amended by striking ‘‘202–209’’ and insert- 13 ing ‘‘202–208’’. 14 (2) Section 8735(a) of title 10, United States 15 Code, is amended by striking ‘‘202–209’’ and insert- 16 ing ‘‘202–208’’. 17 (3) Section 31(h) of the Mineral Leasing Act 18 (30 U.S.C. 188(h)) is amended by striking ‘‘and the 19 provisions of section 39 of this Act’’. 20 VerDate Sep 11 2014 01:21 Mar 28, 2020 Jkt 099200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H6289.IH H6289 pamtmann on DSKBC07HB2PROD with BILLS 3 •HR 6289 IH SEC. 3.
