Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS FOR REBECCA 3 TRIMBLE. 4 (a) IN GENERAL.—Notwithstanding subsections (a) 5 and (b) of section 201 of the Immigration and Nationality 6 Act (8 U.S.C. 1151), Rebecca Trimble shall be eligible for 7 the issuance of an immigrant visa or for adjustment of 8 status to that of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent 9 residence upon filing an application for issuance of an im- 10 migrant visa under section 204 of that Act (8 U.S.C. 11 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:11 Mar 12, 2020 Jkt 099200 PO 00000 Frm 00001 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S3490.IS S3490 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 2 •S 3490 IS 1154) or for adjustment of status to lawful permanent 1 resident. 2 (b) ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS.—If Rebecca Trimble 3 enters the United States before the filing deadline speci- 4 fied in subsection (c), Rebecca Trimble shall be considered 5 to have entered and remained lawfully and shall be eligible 6 for adjustment of status under section 245 of the Immi- 7 gration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1255) as of the date 8 of the enactment of this Act. 9 (c) APPLICATION AND PAYMENT OF FEES.—Sub- 10 sections (a) and (b) shall apply only if the application for 11 issuance of immigrant visas or the application for adjust- 12 ment of status are filed with appropriate fees within two 13 years after the date of the enactment of this Act. 14 (d) REDUCTION OF IMMIGRANT VISA NUMBERS.— 15 Upon the granting of immigrant visas or permanent resi- 16 dence to Rebecca Trimble, the Secretary of State shall in- 17 struct the proper officer to reduce by one, during the cur- 18 rent or next following fiscal year— 19 (1) the total number of immigrant visas that 20 are made available to natives of the country of birth 21 of Rebecca Trimble under section 203(a) of the Im- 22 migration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1153(a)); 23 or 24 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:11 Mar 12, 2020 Jkt 099200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S3490.IS S3490 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 3 •S 3490 IS (2) if applicable, the total number of immigrant 1 visas that are made available to natives of the coun- 2 try of birth of Rebecca Trimble under section 202(e) 3 of that Act (8 U.S.C. 1152(e)). 4 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:11 Mar 12, 2020 Jkt 099200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\S3490.IS S3490 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS
